The Tazer Has Improved Since its Birth to Become a Highly Regarded Self Defense Device
Human beings don’t usually think about where they originate. Their own particular history is usually overlooked, not only that but the apparatus that are employed around them. The Tazer is employed by police departments throughout the country as well as to countless across the globe. Where did this tool originate from? Why has it become such a favored instrument to stop suspects when they become out of hand? Why have civilians employed this less than lethal device to guard themselves?
The Tazer as we know it nowadays initially began with a bad start. Terrorists were making a habit of hijacking airplanes. Officers were then placed airplanes to help stop this sort of dangerous behavior. Yet the law enforcers were equipped with guns to begin yet the guns they were employing posed a different type of threat.
Bullets can pierce an airplane’s hull, which is very dangerous. But a scientist named Jack Cover discovered that this could be avoided if the officer on the airplane used electricity to incapacitate the airborne terrorists. Mr Cover developed an electroshock tool that discharged two darts linked to wires that caused a high voltage shock to the suspect that would temporarily paralyze them. He named this new type of device after one of his favorite childhood stories: “Tom Swift and His Electric Rifle.” Thus, the Tazer was born, though at the time it looked a lot like a flashlight.
Two decades later, this amazing weapon was dramatically improved. The darts that were expelled became propelled by taut nitrogen instead of gunpowder, and could as a result fire at a target up to fifteen feet away. This simple, yet bright change made the Tazer more accessible to the general public. This innovative invention was also previewed to law enforcement agencies. They found that the device was very useful, and the more it became improved, the more law enforcement agencies started to use it for incapacitating criminals.
Nowadays the Tazer gun is employed throughout the world by individuals and law enforcement officers for one simple reason: it operates. Since it has been operated in law enforcement, thousands of lives have been saved. There is no telling how many civilians have stopped muggers, burglars, rapists, and other criminals as they are trying to commit their crimes. The world has been made a safer place thanks to this single device.
